The Four of Swords card from the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck

Swords

Four of Swords

rest · recovery · a deliberate stop

Upright

A figure lying still, three swords on the wall and one at rest beneath. The Four is recuperation treated as a task: not collapse, but the chosen pause that makes the next stretch survivable.

Reversed

Reversed, rest is being refused, or has become somewhere to hide. The body usually forces the issue eventually, and it's kinder to go first.

If this is your card this month

What would real rest look like this month, specifically?

A card is a prompt rather than a forecast. It doesn't know what will happen, and the useful part is what you do with the question it hands you. We make that case at more length in not a prediction, a mirror.

Where this card came from

If Four of Swords arrived on a postcard, it was drawn for you for that full moon, and the reflection on the back was written from what it means. And if it didn't, well — that's the other thing we do here: a card and a reflection in your mailbox every full moon.
