Upright
The lion is being calmed rather than beaten, and that's the whole card. Strength is the quiet sort: staying steady with something frightening or unruly until it settles. It's a good card for a hard conversation held gently, and for appetites handled without shame.
Reversed
Reversed, it often means force where patience was called for, or patience where a little force would have helped. It can also show up as self-doubt, which is the same capacity turned inward and used to talk you out of things.
If this is your card this month
What in your life responds better to patience than to pressure?
A card is a prompt rather than a forecast. It doesn't know what will happen, and the useful part is what you do with the question it hands you. We make that case at more length in not a prediction, a mirror.
