Upright
Something is starting, and you almost certainly don't have enough information to start it responsibly. The Fool's suggestion is to go anyway. It's the card of the step taken before the plan is finished, and its quiet argument is that some things can only be learned once you're already moving.
Reversed
Reversed, the leap tends to be either avoided or taken carelessly. Perhaps you're waiting for a certainty that isn't coming, or perhaps you're calling recklessness courage. Both are ways of not looking at what the step actually costs.
