The The Sun card from the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck

The Major Arcana

The Sun

clarity · joy · vitality

Upright

Everything visible, nothing hidden, and that's fine. The Sun is the plainest good card in the deck: warmth, health, work going well, something you can enjoy without bracing for the catch. You're allowed to take the win without auditing it.

Reversed

Reversed, the light is dimmed rather than gone. Often it's a good thing you can't quite feel, or optimism being performed rather than felt. Sometimes the reversed Sun just means tired.

If this is your card this month

What is going well that you've not let yourself enjoy?

A card is a prompt rather than a forecast. It doesn't know what will happen, and the useful part is what you do with the question it hands you. We make that case at more length in not a prediction, a mirror.

Where this card came from

If The Sun arrived on a postcard, it was drawn for you for that full moon, and the reflection on the back was written from what it means. And if it didn't, well — that's the other thing we do here: a card and a reflection in your mailbox every full moon.
