The The High Priestess card from the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck

The Major Arcana

The High Priestess

intuition · the unspoken · inner knowing

Upright

You may know something you haven't said out loud yet. The High Priestess sits between two pillars with a scroll half hidden in her lap: the answer exists, it just isn't ready to be spoken. This is a card for listening rather than deciding, and for trusting the quiet read you already have.

Reversed

Reversed, the signal tends to be drowned out, usually by other people's certainty or by your own need for an answer today. It can also point to secrets kept longer than they're useful, including the ones you keep from yourself.

If this is your card this month

What do you already know that you keep talking yourself out of?

A card is a prompt rather than a forecast. It doesn't know what will happen, and the useful part is what you do with the question it hands you. We make that case at more length in not a prediction, a mirror.

Where this card came from

If The High Priestess arrived on a postcard, it was drawn for you for that full moon, and the reflection on the back was written from what it means. And if it didn't, well — that's the other thing we do here: a card and a reflection in your mailbox every full moon.
