The The Tower card from the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck

The Major Arcana

The Tower

sudden change · collapse · revelation

Upright

Something built on a poor foundation comes down, quickly, and rarely on your schedule. The Tower is difficult and it is also clarifying: what it takes down was going to fail anyway, and afterwards you know exactly what was load-bearing.

Reversed

Reversed, the collapse has been deferred or survived. Either you're bracing a structure everyone can see is going, or you're standing in the aftermath of one while the dust settles. Neither is a failure.

If this is your card this month

What are you propping up that would be simpler to let fall?

A card is a prompt rather than a forecast. It doesn't know what will happen, and the useful part is what you do with the question it hands you. We make that case at more length in not a prediction, a mirror.

Where this card came from

If The Tower arrived on a postcard, it was drawn for you for that full moon, and the reflection on the back was written from what it means. And if it didn't, well — that's the other thing we do here: a card and a reflection in your mailbox every full moon.
